Peru sits at number 86 in new "Good Country Index"

Summary : Peru sits at number 86 in Good Country Index. Good Country Index measure wide range of factor, including cultural and scientific contributions, security and world order, prosperity, and health. In here, the word 'good' means the opposite of "selfish", not the opposite of 'bad'. All factor of Peru is low level except Planet and Climate category. That factor's ranking is number 17. Also, almost Europe countries took the top 10 countries.

Persuasive : I'm so impressive in various ways after reading this article because Peru have high factor about climate, this system will make a positive competition across countries and I heard this system ranking about Korea. One of the global hot issues is problem about environment. Nevertheless, high ranking about climate and planet look so good. Korea's factor about culture, financial is high rank but national security is very lower under 100 ranking. Because Korea is at war. Also I think that if keep this system, it could make countries stimulate to develop by competition.

Peruvian police and soldiers given 'licence to kill' protesters five years after Bagua violence

Summary : The Government granted 'licence to kill' to Peruvian police and soldiers. The Peru is one of the world's largest producers of silver, copper and minerals. By making new law, mining companies enter indigenous territories without the community's consent. Local communities worried about its effect like pollution in rivers. So, more than 30 people died in a bloody battle between police and environmental protesters in Peru.

Persuasive : After I read this article, I think Peru government did terrible things because government allow police to kill the people, protest of native is very reasonable, government did mining industry despite pollution. I think police have oblige like keeping their citizen so police kill the citizen is hardly possible. If government continue mining industry, native's farmland and their way of life are destroyed so their protesting is natural. Also, by doing mining industry, environment can be destroyed. For these reason, I think that behavior of government is bad.

Peru to overhaul century-old Carnegie Library($400,000 grant will help fund $1.3 million in renovations)

Summary : The Peru Public Library has landed a $400,000 grant that will help fund the biggest renovation project ever undertaken at the library's more than 100- year - old buildings. Indiana Office of Community and Rural  Affairs and Dukes Health Caare Foundation will give financial help for renovation. Library was constructed in 1902 and last renovated about 20  years ago. Library will be renovated about window, electric, insulation, and elevator. Also, this project will take 8 to 10 months to complete.

Persuasive : After read this article, I think that project will change atmosphere of town because library is a place that people can learn, library is a historical building, the appearance of library will be looking so good. By good facilities of library, people will find the library more to learn. Also because of aging of library, 100 years old, it is a historical building in that town. Also, by renovating, appearance will be changed nicely. For theses reasons project can change the overall atmosphere of town.
